What's up fellas, I attached some photos of beveled pipe. Can someone tell me how they look? I don't know if I need to correct anything, that's why I'm asking. I never beveled pipe with an angle grinder so let me know. I tried getting the best pictures I can but the light wasn't very good Thanks Attached Images
Reply:seem to me you need more angle..2nd to last pic yer included angle is a lot  greater than 90, it should be maybe 75 or so..
Reply:60' minimun, id have less landing if i was welding this
Reply:I'm a pipewelder and you have laid it back to much, whether you tig the root or stick(6010) the root, make yourself a guage with a piece of sheet metal with 37.5 degree bevel and continue to practice, but square the end first then bevel,I started in pipe as a helper and later down the road got into welding pipe, talked myself into a welders slot on a sawmill shutdown and glad it only lasted 21 days, any longer and I would have been run off.Keep practicing.William
Reply:The excess angle has already been addressed above. Clean the pipe ID and OD about an inch back from the bevel also. The amount of land to leave will depend on the process you use for the root.
Reply:Thanks guys that's exactly what I wanted to here. I know I need help. Practice makes perfect
