Hey all.I was bored and decided to see the differences with polarity on a E6013.This was done on my new Cigweld Transmig Multi-process inverter. Mig/tig/Stick.I love this welder. Such smooth starts and welds. Money well spent.Anyway. Both were done with a 3.2mm (1/8th) E6013 electrode.Top was done on DCEP @ 115 amps. Slag peeled off.Bottom was done on DCEN @ 115 amps. Same deal with the slag.Any criticism would be great.Thanks. Attached ImagesSkinWeld Engineering. Reply:I think you really would need to cut the weld and see the penetration to see the real difference. I am guessing a lot less penetration on the lower weld. try some inside and outside corner/fillet welds then hit them with a big hammer and see if they break. should give u an idea of the penetration thenTiger Sales: AHP Distributor www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P, Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma. Reply:Since your running tests, try 6013 on AC if you have the capability. I have an old AC only Lincoln engine driven welder and it runs 6013 real well. Anyway from the surface looks good.GeezerPower Mig 255C185 TIGBlue 175 MIGRanger 8 Kohler 20HP1974 5K Lincoln/Wisconsin Powered (Cherry)Victor/Harris O/AK 487 Spool Gun
Reply:I weld 6013 with dcen only. Work best for me. For 3.2 electrode I use 130-140 amps.
Reply:Your welds look nice and strait. Keep on burning rod. |
