Reply:Grats!Good unitsBuy American, or don't whine when you end up on the bread line.
Reply:Love my Maxstar 150STL. I'm pretty bad about selling things come spring, but I can't let this one go!
Reply:That's a good unit. We got one at the plant I work and to be honest I'm old and couldn't see how that little welder could do the same as a "real" welder. But lately I've used it with 3/32 7018 and even on 110 it runs a very nice bead. Some of the guys in the shop use it to tig stainless and seems to work well for them. But our unit (it's actually a 140) has no remote so it's not one I use for it. For portable work it really shines.AlA man is judged by what's between his legs...always ride a good horseMiller DialArc HFLincoln Classic 300DThermal Arc 181iPowermax 45Scotchman Ironworker(2) BridgeportsOkomota Surface GrinderAutoCAD 2010

Reply:Dont bother with 6010... Ive had limited success with 6011 on these machines...My old 140 Stick/TIGShops 150 S and 150 STLall 3 hate 6010, I mostly weld pipe, so it MAY have something to do with it, but it sure burns 7018 like a dream!!All in all, sweet little machine, Congrats!!Lincoln Power MIG 210 MP ( boat anchor )Lincoln Weld-Pac 100 HDHobart IronMan 230Cutmaster 42Jackson NexGenSumner Ultra ClampsDWM120
Reply:At school we only ran 6011 and 7018. I had issues running 6011 on the Maxstar just as MadMax31 said. 3/32 6013 is my 'go to' rod on the Maxstar for 99% of the things I run into.
Reply:6011 always runs fine for me. I tried 6010 once and made do, but it was tough to keep lit.My name's not Jim....
Reply:Can the Maxstar 150S stick only be upgraded later for Tig welding with the proper attachments and accessories? Thanks |
