I have learned alot by just browsing this site but can anyone recommend any books or online courses that are really good?  I've hooked up with a local welding shop where I've been practicing stick welding.  I've been working on 1 inch place in the vertical and overhead positions but he just shows you what to do to pass the tests.  This place is actually the place where people come to take the tests.I'm looking to learn about the machines, different types of welding, and the science behind it.  I pick up bits and peices from this site, Youtube, Google searches, etc but was looking for something a little more formal that I can put on a resume and become a better welder.  I'd love to pick up for 3 months and go to Hobart or Lincoln but I work during the day and can't do it.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Also looking for a good machine to by but I know there are a million posts on that already.
