gate hinges made from concentric pipe

Hello there, had some pictures somewhere of a few that I have seen out there but can't find them at the moment.  Basically the post pipe has larger diameter pipe welded on the outside for collars then the part for the gate that is the same size becomes the hinge and rests on the collar.  I've seen a few with welded on grease fitting bungs and that seems pretty slick.  I was wondering if there's any tables anywhere which has the inner and outer diameters listed so I can select the sizes that will fit best.  Thanks
Reply:The ones with the grease fittings are generally pre machined weld-on hinges You can buy them online. They work great provided you align them properly and put sound welds on them.http://www.marlborohinge.com/weld-on-hinges

Reply:dont have to fit that tight to work well, you can drill and tap for the grease fitting..
Reply:-The inner weld seam is readily removed with drum sander.-.020+ total clearance between the inner pipe and outer,in pipe sizes 2" and larger is not excessive. Grease fillsthe clearance gap.-Use brass/AL shims to space and center the inner/outerpipe sections during fitup and alignment; then remove the shims.Failure to do the above, creates mis-aligned hinge assemblythat is bound up.Attached pics are of hinge assemblies using modified pipe,but not using the hinge post as a center hinge pin (as you are describing).
