ESAB Good Deal?

I've found an ESAB Handy Plasma 550 (35A 220v plasma cutter from the early or mid 2000's) locally for $450.  It looks like it was used in an art shop, and I suspect I can talk them down some.  Any questions I need to be asking or things I can to do test this?  Does it sound like a good deal?
Reply:Don't know if this is any help I have a ESAB 875,it a good machine my only complate is the consumables are spendycompared to other machines. The company has gone through alot of ownership changes so parts can iffey. B.J.
