Filler Rod Holder

Got tired of my filler rods laying everywhere. Spent about $10 on this project and cleared a spot on the work bench. The first one is short for stubs/half lengths. I used a coupler with a 3/4 cap jammed in it to get the length I wanted. One is for ss one for mild and one for aluminum. I used 1" pvc, some 2x4 scrap, and 5/16th threaded rod. Pics explain the construction. Would have used bigger pvc but I had the 1 inch already and I hardly ever have to buy filler (hobbyist).

Reply:That's a good idea... built right into the bench.  Don't even need to get up to fetch a new one.  I could use something like that...  thanks for the idea.
Reply:I saw something similar on here before just did it through the table top instead. Yes I weld on a wood bench. I'm competent and conscious enough to keep it from catching on fire. I do accept donations for large pieces of steel plate.
Reply:In the 2nd picture, is that a recessed light under your table?
Reply:that would be the "door knob" for the sliding closet door which also happens to be the top of my work bench haha.They are solid core and I got them both for 10 bucks from a habitat for humanity store. Here is a pic of the second bench I made. the metal desk that the filler rod holders are mounted in used to have an mdf top but due to moisture it ended up with about a 7 inch bow in the center so I scrapped it.

Reply:Yeah they have great prices on random stuff there. These are just solid cored but its just laminated pine with oak strips around the edges and veneer but it was still a god buy.
