My Synchrowave 250 has an AC Balance knob that is in increments of 1-10 and a HF intensity knob that ranges from 0-100. I know that the HF is usually measured in hertz, but what does the 0-100 setting correspond to in hertz?I understand the AC balance theory. Everything I read says that my transformer machine will not actually go from 0-100 % EN. So what does the 1-10 measurement relate to? Is a setting of 10 75% en? Am I wrong and is a setting of 10 the same as using dcen? Thanks. Couldnt edit topic. Should read "HF and AC Balance"Last edited by Drf255; 07-17-2011 at 06:52 AM.
Reply:Have you read the manual? You can down load the exact manual for your machine on millers site with your serial number. From the latest manual for the Syncrowave 250 ( not the 250DX)http://www.millerwelds.com/om/o353u_mil.pdf0 on the Balance scale is 55% EP, 45% EN3 is 50/5010 is 32% EP,68% ENThe HF knob simply adjusts the amount of energy in the HF.High Frequency IntensityControlUse control to change amount of HF energy used to start and maintain the arc. Set as low as practical to prevent interfering with electronic equipment.
Reply:Thanks. I'm obviously confusing hf and frequency control.
Reply:One thing's for certain. You are definitely confused. The Syncrowave 250 is a "transformer" machine. The AC frequency is 60Hz, and there isn't a dang thing you can do to change that short of dealing with the power company supplying the juice.I'd strongly suggest that you go to millerwelds.com and click on the resources tab. That will take you to their offer for their "Student Pack". It's $25 including shipping. Includes an excellent Tig Handbook, a GMAW Handbook, a GMAW-P Handbook, and a lot of other useful goodies. The Tig handbook can be downloaded, but the hardcopy version is too good a deal to pass up.Syncro 250 DX Dynasty 200 DXMM 251 w/30A SG XMT 304 w/714 Feeder & Optima PulserHH187Dialarc 250 AC/DCHypertherm PM 1250Smith, Harris, Victor O/ASmith and Thermco Gas MixersAccess to a full fab shop with CNC Plasma, Water Jet, etc. |
