I have 2 inverter welders, both are 200 amp. Machines. If I set both welders at the same amperage,120amps and use the same electrode, electrode holder, cable and ground clamp with cable. The welder with the digital readout welds much colder (about 20/25 amps less) . Is there a way I can check the amp. Output on each machine. The digital read out machine is the one that welds cold set at the same amp. And is there a way to calibrate that machine
Reply:clamp style amp meter, that reads true RMS ?
Reply:I don't think any two welders, even the same make and model, weld exactly the same when set the same. I consider the indicator a reference point. It's up to the weldor to find the sweet spot.
