These are demo car engine protectors we made for a local group who run demo's all over the state. They are made from 3/8 pickled and oiled plate with gusseted ears for the motor mounts and a front protector for the crank and pulley. Bolt to the block to protect it and we make a motor mount from folded 1/4 plate with a 1 1/4 x 1/2 id dom tube running through it that gets welded to the frame. So far we made six and they all survived the season and saved a lot of motors. Reply:Some plasma art we recently did for a very good friend/customer who is in poor health...hopefully cheered him up a bit. This was done from the picture of him holding up the trophy. had a few letters drop out but otherwise came out pretty good. Reply:Those engine protectors are pretty slick actually. Nice and heavy duty, should survive most any off road test. I like how you integrated the motor mounts into the design as well.Miller Dynasty 200 DXBuildPro TMA52238 (38" x 22")Miller MP-10 & Jackson Nexgen EQC20 Ton Press & Swag HD Press Brake
Reply:This was a spindle holder for a local paint contractor, he swore he was going to make a fortune off of selling these to Home Depot and Lowes. I designed it in Solidworks with folding legs, made it out of .100 aluminum for the top and 3/16 mild steel legs and it weighed about 6 pounds and supported me at 275#. Grommets in the holes made up for variance in the spindles and were easy to remove for cleaning. Never heard back from them so they probably didnt make their fortune yet! Reply:One of our more time consuming projects, tube chassis for a 1941 Willys coupe. All done in house with the exception of the waterjet cut "web" between the upper and lower tubes. We even made the oval tubing for the control arms by splitting round tube and welding in flat stock, then grinding and smoothing it all out. Took forever, when I did the upper arms I got smarter and milled a flat on heavy wall dom tubing for an oval look. Reply:See Coupe, we're not all that bad. But that last picture does concern me. Those welds wont hold and 120+ mph. There are no problems. There are only solutions. It's your duty to determine the right one.Hobart Handler 210Airco 225 Amp MSM Stinger
