Will a 2012 Vantage 300 provide enough power, and clean enough power for a Dynasty 280 AC/DC  inverter ?  Any advice on inverters in the 300 amp with AC Tig capability range would also be welcome. Thanks Bruce

Reply:Huh?! $1200 more than the Dynasty280, Draws over 15KVA on 3-phase (almost 20KVA single phase) so won't run full power on a Vantage 300. I have an old Thermal Arc 300GTSW, it was a good machine for its time but that was a while ago. The Arcmaster 300 is a slightly modernized version but still has 90's-era power electronics. My 300GTSW is on its last legs and I will probably replace it with a Dynasty 280 when it goes. The Dynasty's higher efficiency and advanced waveforms more than make up for the 20 fewer amps at the top end.JohnA few weldersA lot of hammersA whole lot of C-clamps
Reply:Do Miller inverters run 6010 better than the other brands ? I ran some in an Invertec 205 last week and the result was poor . Will the everlast models run 6010 well ?

Reply:As far as I know, it was not about expensive vs. inexpensive, but about optimizing the 150 to run as efficiently as possible on 120V. They made a decision to limit its open-circuit voltage in order to give it higher current when running on 120V. The lower OCV limits its ability to whip-and-pause with 6010 but allows it to run 1/8" 7018s (and most other rods) without blowing breakers on 120V.JohnA few weldersA lot of hammersA whole lot of C-clamps
Reply:Thanks for the help.Is the Everlast PowerTIG 255EXT actually for sale anywhere other than Everlast ?  I can't seem to find a real world price on that model.

Reply:The Vantage has plenty of power to operate the Dynasty 280. Perhaps Miller is more allergic to their machines working with Lincolns than vice versa.JohnA few weldersA lot of hammersA whole lot of C-clamps
Reply:Runnig stick at 280 amps would be maxing out the  vantage's generator ,but the dynasty 's duty cycle is only 10 or15% maxed out on stick.
Reply:Weld with the Lincoln leave the blue box at home.
Reply:The only time the Dynasty would be used in conjunction with the Vantage is for portable tig welding. Especially AC tig. For large aluminum tanks in cool weather we need more amps than the Dynasty 200 can provide, otherwise I would go with it.  Originally Posted by PavinsteelmanWeld with the Lincoln leave the blue box at home.
