Mini Smoker

I didnt build this. I saw it tonight at an event here in Rome GA called the Roman Roast. Its a BBQ cooking competition. I was walking around trying out the wings and saw this. Tonight was the wing competition and its spectator choice. Anyway when I saw this mini smoker I was intrigued. The kid that was running it is 8 years old and you could tell he was proud of what he had and was doing. He was cooking a Tenderloin for the category "anything butt". You could enter anything in this category that wasnt a pork butt. It is built out of an old steel SCBA or air pack bottle like fire fighters use. I will build one of these, it was very cool. The owner and chef for this mini smoker is Dillan. You could tell it really made his night for someone to show so much interest in his smoker and what he was doing.

Reply:I asked him if I could take a pic of his smoker. He said I could and asked me if I wanted him to pose with it. I told him, absolutely. He was very happy to pose with it. I wish I had gotten a pic of the tenderloin cooking inside but I didnt ask due to it being a competition. It looked good though. Laced with bacon on top. I hope he does well in his category.

Reply:No Ringgold very well. Rolled in there about 01:00 on the night the tornado hit last year. Was unreal to see the devastation. We had atleast one ambulance, most of the time two, up there for about a week while they sorted through things and started trying to put it back together.
Reply:Now all the little fella needs is a trailer hitch for his bike so he can tow it around when he needs to travel with it. No word on how he did in the competition?
Reply:I didnt get to go yesterday so I dont know how he faired in the judging. If I can find out I will post.

Reply:I never got into that area. We were assigned to a search and rescue team clearing buildings in the south side of the road when you exit of the interstate. I know some of our units got int that area. Was a nad situation.
