Scarfing Tips?!

I recently saw an older welder with a scarfing tip, but the tip was half flat with the other half being the same as a normal scarfing tip. What has me is that all the scarfing tips I see are fully round with a bend. I can't seem to find his bent half shaven scarfing tip. (He had a 300 handle victor torch.)Josh
Reply:Scarfing tips are made in different configurations, some are round, some are flat on one side, some are flat on both sides. Different parts of the country call them different names too. Reply:I have a tip if you need one right away its a Victor 2-1-112 for a #315 handle. I guess what we used to call the Victor journeyman set. The torch number is worn off so I don't remember what size it is. The tip is curved and flat on both top and bottom. You might google that number and see what comes up. I have a number of round scarfing tips but this is the only flat one, used to use it to cut rivet heads off truck frames. I don't do that any more.
Reply:Thanks I found several and called victor the one i saw is not made anymore. Which led me to buy a couple scarfing tips and one rivet washing tip. Josh
