Reply:Use square tubing instead of just flat stock welded.. it will work alot better. Truthfully, a 4"x.25" flat bar where you hilighted  would ruin the table. It wouldn't add any strength, and would warp it to uselessness when you welded it in.It looks to be 2x'4' and about 3/8" thick. Use some 2x2x.125" tubing and make a frame for it, with cross members. I have a picture of the frame of my rolling cart around here somewhere.. I'll post it when I find it.*edit*Found the frame for my rolling cart:I went a bit overboard with the cross members.. and I capped the ends of the tubing with fishplates/gussets. I have ~800lb on the top of mine right now and you can't get it to wiggle at all.Last edited by JohnR; 05-06-2012 at 09:59 PM.Miller: 200dx, Bobcat 225, Passport, Powermax 45, Milwaukee: Dry Saw, MagDrill, grinders

Reply:You could easily just cut out some 1/4" 45degree cut gussets to support the tops of each leg, directly under the table too.  Just make about 1' welds on the corners of each gusset and you're done.  For even added support, weld 3 cross beams in the middle of each leg, connecting one another.  Don't weld a 4th beam on the side you'd probably end up sitting down next to with a shop chair.  Your legs would always hit that support beam.  Simple angle iron or channel iron would work well.  Just another opinion of a dozen or more to come.  Lincoln Power Mig 216Lincoln AC/DC-225/125Miller  625 X-Treme PlasmaMiller 211 Forney 95FI-A 301HF 91110Victor Journeyman O/PMilwaukee DaytonMakita  Baileigh NRA Life Member
Reply:Almost done with the table only missing leg levelers
