Does anyone have a good/unique/cool setup for storing oxy/acetelyne torches/tips?I have four torch handles, and 20+ tips, and was thinking about a good way to store them so that tips are in order by size and handles kept near their matching tips, etc.Tossing them all in a welding cart bin or a small toolbox just results in digging through a pile when looking for one, and wears things out from them banging around together.
Reply:I have a rack on the inside of my cabinet door with a series of holes that the tips hang in. The torch stays in the box on the bottle cart.
Reply:Some torches are on a shelf, some are hanging with hose on wall. One of each tips, 0, 1 & 2, on cart. All spare tips, new tips, not used anymore acetylene tips are in a plastic fishing tackle 3700 box. And that sits in the welding drawer of my Snap-On box."Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! I sent him over to snag that MIC-4 while tbone wasn't looking!" - duaneb55"I have bought a few of Tbone's things unlike Stick-Man who helps himself" - TozziWelding"Stick-man"

Reply:Hey Steevo, just make sure you secure them. Don't believe that guy tbone550! You lock them up tight, where he can't get to them. Especially, if you're near the Shenandoah Valley in VA. I drove thru there once. Stopped for a bite. And lost everything. My F550, Miller XMT, SAM 400, even my new rod oven."Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! Reply:Sorry for the poor photo . . . there's an 8' fluorescent fixture just above the panel and the camera just can't adjust for it.  Tips for the AW1A on the left, for the LW7 torch on the right with cutting tips and tip cleaners below.  I just drilled a series of holes in a 1 x 3 and sawed a narrow slots just wide enough for the tips to pass.Glued in the bottom the storage compartment, there's an aluminum block with holes drilled for the mixing chambers .  I just didn't like the tips banging around in the box.Dynasty 300DXSmith He/Ar gas mixerMM350PHobart Handler 120Smith LW7, MW5, AW1A

Reply:I keep my cutting tips sorted by brand, by type and size. For example, my Victor tips that fit a large cutting attachment go in a plastic divided box I buy at the art store, with a piece of paper between the lid and the top of the compartments that label sizes 000, 00, 0, 1, 2, 3. Victor and Airco tips, acetylene and propane, multiple types .. whole drawer full of plastic boxes. Easy to find what I want; all tips protected.metalmagpie
Reply:i keep mine all in a tool box with compartments for different sizes. it's a pain trying to get the right tip but we have whats called leaf rollers that love to roll the eggs in tight little rolls of leaves and pack them in anything with holes. i used to have to wrap duct tape around the air glad hands on all my truck/trailers or they would plug them. hey Sticky if you are worried about Tbone finding your stash i'll rent you storage in my shop. heck i couldn't even find it in there lol. the plus is while he is looking my Chihuahua will be eating him225NT bobcatAEAD200LEScott 125mm175, mm252 w 30A, PT225mm211, TA 181iHyper Therm 380, cut master 529100X & XX, Digital Elite6 Victor setssmith little torch, meco midget kalamazoo band sawsteel max saw evoulution circular saw
Reply:First off, I don't know what Sticky is complaining about -  I bought him a hot dog and a water while he was here returning my tools to me.  And JBM, I've always wanted to see the west coast (never been further than AZ), but I've already got all of Stick's good tools so I doubt I'll even stop by your shop while I'm there.  I'd just keep your dog in the house if I were you....
