hello i am new to the forum,i am running some 5/32 and 1/8 6010 vertical and i have been using the "inverted T" technique but my beads are just a little too wide i was wondering if anybody could suggest other ways that they run 6010 vertically? any response would be appreciated thanks,Aaron
Reply:I'm not a 6010 hand at all, I need all the help I can get, so I run a flat bottom U. Attached ImagesDont pay any attention to meIm just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400
Reply:i make circles(once you add travel to a circle i guess its a helix)and run downhill..the faster and tighter i make the circles the smoother the bead looks Attached Images
Reply:thanks for the advice guys, CEP when you make the flat bottom u do you whip in and out of the puddle? do you do this for your fill passes as well on that pipe? and weldbead i do the same thing for downhill i was just wondering what you do for uphill?thank you guys so much for replying the advice really helpsaaron
Reply:No, no whip! For vertical up on plate, and my hot pass on pipe I run the flat bottom U. For the cover pass on pipe I run 6010 just like 7018. Hold / pause on the sides, move across the middle fast.Remember now, arc length is critical! You control the fluidity of the puddle with the arc length.Dont pay any attention to meIm just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400
Reply:can send anymore pictures CEP i am still having trouble, i know how to run the weave like a 7018 but everytime i run the flat bottom u it seems to be too large for a stringer are 6010 stringers supposed to be way bigger than 7018 vertical stringers?thanks a tonAaron

Reply:Here's a picture of a hot pass on 2 1/2 inch pipe 5-G. I used the flat bottom U pattern, with 1/8 inch 6010. Attached ImagesDont pay any attention to meIm just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400
