Guy at work brought this in for me to weld back together. No. Not only NO but HELL NO!Not only broke but twisted. If you cant fix it with a hammer, it must be an electrical problem."Boy, everyone starts with a full bag of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before the bag of luck is empty."-Grandad circa 1990ish

Reply:What would you say if someone wanted you to narrow the triple tree 2 inches. Or say make them a new one with smaller fork tubes. A good metal worker would have easily fixed the tree. Its made out of the easiest material there is to weld. custom bike builders all over the country do things much scarier than that. I've built whole forks from scratch.,lengthened swing arms, built custom frames. these are not dangerous things to do. BUT they do take knowledge and that comes from experience. and you have to get experience someplace. But not on my bike. Mac

Reply:I can see welding on it being worth it if you were wanting something custom, but for the amount of money it would cost to eBay one of these I don't think I'd have it repaired.Jupiter Weld & Repair -- www.Jupiterwelding.com

Reply:ZTFab An experienced metal worker CAN make the repair...A wise metal worker will know NOT to make the repair.Custom work and properly building new parts is vastly different than trying to repair the OEM part that has suffered this damage.Totally agree - I would not have fixed it either.
