Reply:What would you say if someone wanted you to narrow the triple tree 2 inches.  Or say make them a new one with smaller fork tubes.  A good metal worker would have easily fixed the tree. Its made out of the easiest material there is to weld.  custom bike builders all over the country do things much scarier than that.  I've built whole forks from scratch.,lengthened swing arms, built custom frames.  these are not dangerous things to do.   BUT they do take knowledge and that comes from experience.  and you have to get experience someplace.  But not on my bike.   Mac
