Well from time to time when I get a chance, I just do some practice weld applications on flat bars just to see if my hands can still maintain that steadiness, you know how it is when one is reaching the age of seniority, hands become shaky at times but I guess with the following results, my hand pulse still has it and still can control my welds. And here are some pics and the set up I just wanted to share and maybe get some positive remarks or suggestions possibly to improve it more.
Reply:Here is another set up for another practice plate, a combination of bead applications and weld weaving.
Reply:And another set up, now for continuous weld applications, still on flat bars. Used a 3/32" welding electrode ( E6013), and about 100amps or 110amps.
Reply:And for this weld applications, I used a 1/8" E6013 welding electrode experimenting on different ampere settings.
Reply:And again another set up on a flat bar.
Reply:And more weld applications on flat bars really controlling hand hand and wrist movements.
Reply:Now take two of those flatbars and make two become one! Great looking beads and tacks...for an oldtimer.
Reply:HAHAHAHA, thanks man for the compliment for this oldtimer though still few more years before reaching the retiring age. But let me say this, " OLD WELDERS don't retire, they just keep on WELDIN"......... LOLLast edited by roberts56; 06-29-2012 at 11:14 AM. |
