I currently have a power mig 200 that works great but have an opportunity to purchase a 255 at a great price. I would probably be able to sell my 200 for what I can get the 255 for. Is there any reason not to upgrade?(At Home)Precision TIG 275Power MIG 200Power Arc 4000AC 225Hobart Handler 135(At Work)Miller Dynasty 200dx
Reply:Hey bsalbrig,There is absolutely NO reason why you shouldn't upgrade if you can get the same or close $$$ for your 200 & pick up a 255. When I was still working at my last company, I had a Lincoln Wirematic255(predecessor to the PM255) that never had any kind of issue in the 12yrs I used it daily. Even though our shop wasn't a large mfg. co., I used 33#/mo. regularly & on large orders would double that amount. Never even a hiccup...... great welders the 255's. Don't hesitate.....get it.......DennyComplete Welding/Machine/Fab. ShopMobile UnitFinally retired*Moderator*"A man's word is his honor...without honor there is nothing.""Words are like bullets.... Reply:More power, same or similar price? No brainer there dude, get the 255.Also, the 255-class machines can (usually) do spray transfer (with the right gas mix), while the 200-class machines really can't. The best laid schemes ... Gang oft agley ...
