Here's a pic of the small valve in the rear of the flowmeter where gas is severly leaking from. The allen head is boogered and looks like some genious used vice grips or pliers to try and get it out going by the knarl marks. Is there anyway to fix this? I just bought it from ebay and need a backup plan if the seller tries to play hardball and tell me to go pound sand. I'm guessing if that happens it's a couple pounds of scrap brass. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Attached Images

Nothing worse than if you had the gas on & it decided to spring a leak, drain your cylinder while you were gone because you forgot to shut it off. I only had to learn that lesson with a bad flowmeter once. Drained a full T size cylinder of Argon in about a night. I was pissed off, to say the least. It went directly in the trash. HTP sells a very, very nice well made import for under $50. Jeff Nolan is the dude to talk to. Google them. He sells on ebay too. Bought a lot of them from him when I was setting up a whole bunch of Miller MIG packages I had for sale some time ago. Couldn't buy junky used ones cheaper.I wouldn't put too much in it. If I had the least amount of suspicion it may begin to leak again, it would go in the scrap bin.IMHO of course.

Reply:Don't remove that blowoff valve. See my response to your other thread.http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=62834It's normally the poppet goes bad and they are easy to replace. If you don't want the core maybe someone else here does. I'd at least keep it for the nipple, nut, and add-on valve with 0--degree fitting for parts since those are generic and you may have future use for them.
