I've been roaming craigslist and I stumbled across a used Lincoln Precision Tig 185 for 1600. Basically the guy says that it will come with a bunch of cups, various welding rods, and a 125 CU Ft tank. What's your guys view on this? The condition on the welder itself looks pretty good. Deal or no?Here are some pics: http://imgur.com/t26upeu http://imgur.com/WlYLmlP http://imgur.com/3qJCiXRhttp://imgur.com/fhO6sU3

Reply:I have a Lincoln PT 185, and for what I do it works great. I have it setup to do stick and TIG. I weld stainless and aluminum. I usually TIG weld 1/8" alum. or less. It "might" do 1/4" but that would max out the machine. I don't see many of the 185's around Washington State on Craigslist. The ones I do see are priced around $1500.00 plus or minus. I paid 1k for mine, but had to buy a used bottle later. That price isn't a steal but it's in the ball park. It really depends on what you're going to be welding.
