Dropped my saw yday and the handle cracked. It's an older model and I believe the handle is magnesium. Haven't done the vinegar test yet. I dont have a Tig unit nor the experience with that process and wondered if there were anyone on here in the HamptonRoads area (757) area code that was close by and could give me a price on fixing it. It may just be cheaper/easier to go Ebay on the part. I can get a used one for about $25.00. If someone was nearby and $25 is worth it I'd just assume give someone the dough. Probably the filler rod is more expensive that its worth doing?I would try it but have basically no experience with Tig. I just use stick and Mig with argon/CO2. Tks

Reply:Thanks all for replies. I'll keep the broken handle in case I ever get a welding process that I can practice with it. Would scratch start Tig on the Lincoln AC/DC 225 be a possible solution to the handle....for practice?
