Homemade DC arc welder

Please let me know how to make a DC arc welder of about 25-35 Volts at home using scrap material, to do small welding jobs our self. A member of Welding web MR CV  FREEK has  made such a unit, but details were not available.

Reply:You can get a cheap 110v arc welder for dirt cheap and convert it to dc for slightly more than the cost of dirt.

Reply:two to three car batteries  hooked together.  (extreme RV's, use this set up for emergency repairs)   a stabilizing coil would most like be helpful ( the WW2 aircraft generator welders had stabilizing coils, and my DC converter box has a stabilizing coil),
