In welding school at the moment...Here are some pics of my 6g! I'm looking for some tips and advice in this position! I am free handing the root but I would like to know how you pipe guys put it in? Reply:Agree they look pretty good. See some heavy penetration, imagine on high side. Try keeping your filler a little higher out of the gap and working your arc higher up each bevel. Second pass on your cap could be a little larger. Have you tried using 4 passes. On the first three, tighten up so each pass overlaps at least to the center of the preceding and then a quick stringer. |
