Craigslist items looks like:-1. (S)150cf Oxy bottle-1. 40 or 75 cf Acetylene bottlewith hose, Purox 300w tortch and gaugesall for $400.Guy doesn't know when any of it was last certified.All this is assuming the bottles are actually his and not leased.Sounded like a pretty good deal to me, what do you guys think?link to ad: http://huntsville.craigslist.org/tls/2774931665.htmlNever Blend In.
Reply:I've seen better and worse.  Who will you be swapping bottles with, and what do they say about leasing/exchanging etc?  Bottles will have dates of cert tests stamped on them.Toss the hoses in the trash.  Too cheap to screw with.  Now you got regs and a torch with an unknown history and probably not many spare parts.  Where can you buy parts for that brand locally?For me, it would be a "pass". Reply:The acet. cylinder shows a hand wheel if you zoom in on it, so it's most likely a 75 cf cylinder not a 40 ( "B" size).Honestly think you aren't saving all that much with this deal, especially if the cyl's need certs and you scrap the hoses. I'd guess you might save $100-150 assuming everything else is in good shape. Need to send anything out for rebuild and you'd be better off with new in my opinion..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:I got a set of regulators, hose, and Purox 300w cutting torch at garage sale for $20.  Torch and regulators were in good shape no repairs needed.  I'd wait for a better deal.

Reply:Wait for better stuff to come along!These things get posted quite offten and I have seen real good prices lately!Bottles have cert dates stamped in and should be good for 5 yrs.  If they are rentals they usualy have the companys name forged into them.  Just things to look for.AEAD 200LE, Lincoln precision tig 185, Millermatic 251, Spectrum 625 extreme, Victor torch , Smithy 1220LTD. and  Do all C-4 band saw ,  Always adding.
