So after poking around looking for some larger cups for the wp-20 I found that CK makes a large gas lens 2GL332LD (45V64S) that you can also get #12 cups for. You have to get the matching insulator just like you would with the 17 series torch as well as a long collet but this looks pretty promising. I love my wp-20 but hate having to switch it out for the 18 series torch everytime I want to use a large diameter cup like a 12. They are pretty pricey at $19 a pop (minimum 2 also) but it sure would be nice to have these.http://www.arc-zone.com/index.php?ma...oducts_id=8936Anyone ever use these with a weldcraft 9/20 torch?
Reply:Yes, I use these on my Weldcraft CrafterSeries and Weldtec Speedway torches. I prefer the Weldtec version as they hold up to the heat better than the Weldcraft version and are labeled US made. Have never tried the CK brand though. Beware they take a longer collet and larger insulator. The work really well balls out on my Dynasty350 and ThermalArc400. You can peel the screens a couple of times when they get crusty also. My reason for using them is to get a bit more distance from my weld when really hot. I also believe the gas lingers in the cup and deposits more heat to the surface of the weld.Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR" MillerDynasty700DX,Dynasty350DX4ea,Dynasty200DX,Li ncolnSW200-2ea.,MillerMatic350P,MillerMatic200w/spoolgun,MKCobraMig260,Lincoln SP-170T,PlasmaCam/Hypertherm1250,HFProTig2ea,MigMax1ea. |
