Just picked up a CST 280 for $700 Canadian with no leads. Got her home and set her up, man this thing is awesome... Seems to weld a little hot maybe but other than that a great machine.... Just sold my Ranger 305 G too :-(. It was a great machine but I needed the money more than I needed it. As luck would have it I got a job two days after selling it GRRRRRR.... I will give that CST280 credit where credit is due it will weld every bit as good as that Lincoln if not better. Yeah im a Lincoln guy too, bought the Ranger by choice. Got a deal on the CST 280 and figured id try her out...How is the CST 280 on tig ? Id like to use it for some stainless tig pipe practice...I think I prefer the CST 280 over my old Ranger OMG cant believe I just said that.. lolLast edited by Newfie_1986; 03-08-2014 at 05:02 PM.Journeyman / Red Seal Welder (What a useless test)Miller CST 280Miller XMT 350Miller 12vs XtremeEvolution Evo 28 mag drillEvolution 380 Dry Cut saw
Reply:the cst 280 gets better gas mileage too, our training school uses them real nice arc, one of the best on stick, tig is just as nice better than my dyn.200 {arc starting}
Reply:Ive used CST280's that have literally been "on" for the better part of 8 months in a semi-outdoor environment and they never gave me any problems. I wouldnt mind owning a lightly used one. But then, Id rather own a dynasty if I was going that route. Its all about price and opportunity.Local 597
Reply:I have my own and we have a bunch at work. Great stick machine, they are requested more then the Maxstar 200's we have for stick. |
