Hi, I am new to this forum. I have a question about the Dialarc, wondering what a HF model goes for? Found one for sale for $800 plus $500 for a Bernard cooler. What should I look for and are there any issue's with these welders? Thanks Chris
Reply:$800 is a good price for the 250HF if it's in good shape, but $500 sounds high for the cooler.I'm not an expert on Dialarcs but make sure that it welds in all polarities, and that the HF works.JohnA few weldersA lot of hammersA whole lot of C-clamps
Reply:Ok thanks, so five is high for a cooler. The guy said he tig's pipe with it all the time and the machine doesn't look beat.
Reply:Miller made dialarcs from the mid 70s (at least) till sometime in the 90s when they dropped the 'HF' option.  Because they are older machines, they tend to sit a big on Craigslist.  Machines with white face are the earlier models, black face are the later ones.  They are probably in the same catagory is the 330 and 320 machines.  Decent DC TIG, and a sine wave AC TIG.  Forget AC TIG.  The value of those machines are probably closer to $500-600.  Its the extras that typically make the deal. And I've seen them ask the range - from $2200 to $500 for these machines. With watercooler, I paid $1100 in 1995ish.  That was with hand control, foot control, regulator, 320Amp torch.  I ended up re-doing some of the fittings and going with a WP20 torch.  Sold it for $800 after I got the Dynasty.  (Should have kept the WP20).At the $800 price, it sat for a couple of weeks on Craigslist.  Most of the calls were people trying to swap stuff for it.Con Fuse!Miller Dynasty 350Millermatic 350P-Spoolmatic 30AMiller Multimatic 200Hypertherm PowerMax 1000G3Miller Maxstar 200DX

Reply:I'm looking for a decent all around machine that won't break the bank. Just starting off, so I was hoping to find a cheaper older machine if I can get enough work to pay for it upgrade later down the road. It's a black faced machine too.
Reply:What's your location? I hunt equipment etc using the Crazedlist aggregator for Craigslist. It's a fast way to keep track of the market.http://crazedlist.orgSample bookmark with regions and "welder" in the search field. Once you have your bookmarked you can change the search field and hunt anything in your area:http://crazedlist.org/index.cgi?area...&submit=SearchAlso, this:The value of those machines are probably closer to $500-600. Reply:Thanks for the link but it was sold already when I called him today.
