when the multi-layer is operated on butt welding of plate ,the multi-layer is 3 in here. i want to know the angular distortion is the largest value accur in backing layer or filler layer .

Reply:Wang- Your translation does not make any sense. I don't know if I can explain it better than Superarc but ill try. I think you are trying to ask about warpage when welding, and if its the first pass or second layer In a three pass tee joint that will give more distortion? Basically, the more heat you put in the more it will warp. It warps upon cooling, it shrinks. Its going to bend in the direction of the side you weld when it cools. "the hot side is the short side" When I am making a Tee joint and I don't want it to warp ill pre-bend the plate by clamping a length of filler rod under it.Nothing Ever Got Done By Quitting, Never Give Up.
