Reply:An abrasive chop saw makes a messy cut, but the type with a blade will cut nice and clean (they're extremely loud though). I'd say go with a horizontal band saw, it'll make a good cut and you wont need hearing protection to use it.TIG - Miller Syncrowave 200Plasma cutter - Miller X-treme 375Round column mill - RongFu 31

Reply:4" zip blade. Easy to maneuver and the least expensive way to cut / trim thin tubing.Lincoln SA200's... at least 15 - 20. They come and go. Growing partial to the "Short Hoods" in my old age. Last count on Short Hoods was 13 in possession.
Reply:Chop saw w/ metal blade. Can't do a lot of cuts in the middle of a radius on u-bends if you're using a band saw.-AaronJet 17.5" Drill Press1942 South Bend 16x84 Lathe1980s Miller 320A / BP --- 2013 Power Mig 2562012 Jet 7x12 Horizontal BandsawVictor O/A Setup

Reply:I've had luck with a vertical bandsaw on thin-wall stainless, especially U and donuts. It's hard to get vices to hold exactly where you need when you're messing with mandrel bends.Miller: 200dx, Bobcat 225, Passport, Powermax 45, Milwaukee: Dry Saw, MagDrill, grinders

Reply:i was seeking the answer to this question last spring. I bought one of the Dewalt chop saws with the metal blades....shortly thereafter i bought a nice bandsaw. You can't be with either if you really want to do some work, but the chop saw will get you a long ways. i found mine on amazon, seemed to be the best deal at the time.
Reply:i do this all the time ! i use my vertical bandsaw . becareful using a chopsaw .when you cut thrue mandrel bends in TUBING in will pinch the blade and it might get ugly if it pinches the chop saw blade but the band saw cuts it very nice and controllable . you just have to deburr with a belt sander and i use my die grinder to do the inside. just make sure your cuts are perfect or sand them perfect and welding is easy
