Hi Guys,I have a few extension cords on wooden spool reels.I use a spool holder to wind/unwind them. My reels are with the socket close to the spool and the male plug being unwound. It is somewhat of a pain with the socket outlet close to the spool flapping and hitting the ground whilst the reel is being turned.I was wondering if it would be a bad idea to have the socket detachable with bullet connectors similar to these ?http://www.progressiverc.com/prc6-co...s-red-832.htmlThe 3 wires would have to be configured so they cannot be mixed up by accident.MM 180

Reply:Take your reels and put a spinner knob near the rim on one side, another 180 degrees away on other side. Very easy to wind or unwind.
Reply:Make the spool holders individually for each wooden spool. Run your box to the outside of one spool. Route the cord through the tube in the middle of the spool, then lead said cord into the core of the wooden reel. Make sure the reel rotates off the spool center, and not the typical tube that runs through the spool, a pic will be up to explain. |
