Face shield opinions

Have to have a face shield for the upcoming class and the suggestion was made to get a tinted shield over goggles.Anyone ever use a Uvex S8510 Bionic ShieldOr would a more standard one be better?(hard to see but there are links LOL)
Reply:WOW ! That's one heck of a face shield. That is the best one I ever saw.  we just have those cheap basic head gear type..  It's not cheap but you do not want to go cheap for safety. i would buy it with a clear and tinted. the tinted will work for torch work. I have not seen goggles used in years. Full shield is the best.and SAFEST!
Reply:That is the most awesome face shield made. I got one issued from my last employer, I had the option to buy it and after one use I was hooked. I even tried to get them to get the green tint cover for using the torch, unfortunately no but still a very good buy. I can wear a respirator and my glasses with no problem. if you get a chance buy one.
Reply:Thanks for the input I appreciate it!!!This leads me into another thing I have been thinking about and that is I have been by the class and everyone there has the same gear very basic inexpensive gear.I'm not rich but I know how to shop and for what I would pay local I have found better grade gear online or by shopping sales around the area.I found 2 speedglas helmets for $5 yes $5 the silver part was missing on one and neither would turn on fellow didn't know you have to put batteries in them Got a miller jacket for same cost as no name cheapy and was looking at these shields but dont want look like I'm trying to impress folks its not like that but if you can get good gear cheap why not right.What do you all think?
Reply:Good and cheap is nice. MARK your gear so it looks DIFFERENT and don't leave it where it can get stolen.Might as well learn early and be ready for the jobsite.
Reply:It's all about money. Try to avoid impulse buying. do you check craig's list for your area ?? I've have gotten awesome deals at Amazon.com. i found it's best when filled and sold by Amazon.  What are you keeping all your goodies in ???  Five gallon bucket works and usually find for free. some guys have a big Klein canvas bag that works too. Reply:I have one of the bionic face shields and it's great.  Really comfortable for me and would definitely buy another.  I don't know if that is the exact one that I have but it looks close.
