Quick tech question about the MT204A barrel. The literature at Victor's site say its for acetylene and other pressurized fuel gasses. Can it be used with propane? I ask that because they also make a torch specifically for LP/NG but it's the long barrel.I may be a gringo but I'll out-Mexican your beaner @ss any day!
Reply:I just switched over to propane myself. I haven't cut with my Victor tractor torch yet, but have with my Victor hand held torch. You should have hose for propane, and tips for propane.Dont pay any attention to meIm just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400
Reply:A Victor torch will cut with any gas, just use the appropriate tip.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."
Reply:Tips make the difference. Recessed and two piece are the best. John G.SMAW,GMAW,FCAW,GTAW,SAW,PAC/PAW/OFCand Shielding Gases. There all here. :

Reply:It likely doesn't nowadays, but if one is being inspected then regulations matter. T-grade hose is much better quality so I get it when I get new hose and would prefer it on a machine torch doing production work. |
