I have a small welding shop. Among my welding equip. I often use Miller Dinasty200 dx...In the last few months I cannot seem to get a clean al.tig from it...tried different setting and no luck..I heard that tips and collar could be a problem...so I put the same on Miller 250 DX...using the same gas...so that is not a problem...Any ideas...or solutions ...in the photo is sample of good tig by 250DX and the rest of the crap is Dinasty 200DXCould anybody help before I take it for [email protected] Attached Images
Reply:Looks like a shielding problem. Check every connection and check hoses for leaks.Airco Ac/Dc 300 HeliwelderMillerMatic 200 (stolen)Miller Maxstar 150STLMiller AEAD200LE (welding and generating power) Hobart MIG
Reply:Ya shielding problem most likely. Use a clean tungsten too. Whats the machine set to? set your ac balance at 70. That aluminum looks pretty dirty too, scuff it with some scotchbrite pad first. To test for argon leaks you can try this:remove the tungsten, hit the pedal so it starts post flowing, then cover the nozzle with your finger. It should build up pressure and kinda hold it for a little bit, not just immediately leak down.Welding/Fab Pics: www.UtahWeld.com

Reply:Check your gas flow with this.Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR" MillerDynasty700DX,Dynasty350DX4ea,Dynasty200DX,Li ncolnSW200-2ea.,MillerMatic350P,MillerMatic200w/spoolgun,MKCobraMig260,Lincoln SP-170T,PlasmaCam/Hypertherm1250,HFProTig2ea,MigMax1ea.
Reply:Check for a leak in your line by removing the tungsten, hold your thumb on the cup to plug it off, tap the pedal to start the gas solenoid and watch the flow meter. If the flow meter ball goes up and stays up, you have a leak. If the ball goes up and then settles down to the bottom with you holding your thumb over the end of the cup, the problem isn't a gas leak. You need to have the post flow set long enough to keep the gas flowing when you do this. Two turn tables and a microphone.
