Power max 30 air water everywhere

I just purchased a used powermax 30 air. The guy who sold it to me demoed it for quite a while. As soon as he left it kept throwing the consumable error code and changing to new consumables did not help. Tech support had me remove the cover and there was standing water in the seperator somewhere around an inch. I removed the seperator and topped it up with water to test the drain. It would drip about every 5 seconds. The torch head also had a fair amount of water in it. I've order a new seperator bowl as I snapped that little drain off the end when trying to remove the drain line. Hypertherm recommended I open the machine and give it time to dry out. We were using it in an extremely humid basement. My question is was it just a bad bowl drain or can the 30air not be used in a very humid environment? Would it be useful to add an additional dryer? Reply:Nature of the beast. The plasma's with built in compressors make their own moisture. Reply:With the auto drain properly repaired the Powermax30 air will work fine in a humid environment. It is normal for an occasional puddle of water under the unit as there is an auto drain on the coalescing filter that drains water that the internal water separator does its job.  Jim Colt
