SA 200 Troubleshooting procedure.

Confused about procedure for basic SA 200 troubleshooting posted by weldmart.My machine is code 6340-A, serial RA599778. Just installed exciter coils by Hybriweld, Morgan City LA.Procedure:1 -Removed brushes, not touching anything.2 – Separated wire as instructed.3 – Using Simpson 260 to read resistance, set at RX10,000, selector on DC+.4 – One lead on right brush holder, the other to each separated wire. No readings whatsoever. Indicator does not flicker.5 – One lead on right brush holder the other to center terminal of rheostat. Reading moves to 0.6 – one lead on each welding output terminals. Reading moves to 0.According to my understanding of Weldmart's instruction, the thing is not supposed to weld but weld it does and a fine job of it.Someone enlighten me, please.Thanks.
