hardfacing price question

whats the going rate for hardfacing buckets (small to medium, mild steel) looking to barter some work and never did out of house hardfacing so never had to price it out.I know there are a lot of variables, but this is for a landscaper with light mixed use equipment, nothing crazy. no special rodhttp://fucdatbirth.blogspot.com/
Reply:I don't own a shop so I am not sure . But hard face wire costs more than regular wire. I bought some a month or so ago and paid about $200 for a 25 pound roll. I got lincoln and really like the way it welds. Good luck with your project.
Reply:no specail rod?So you are going to mostly be building up worn equipment with what ever rod is old or not used often?I would price it the same as any other welding job, he needs it done and you need to pay for consumables, electricity and your time.

Reply:There is a HUGE difference between hard facing and rebuilding a worn surface.Those rods are very costly (for good reason). Reply:Communicate with your customer and find out if they want build up or hard facing. Two very different things, two very different costs...also there are different types of hardfacing rods, too.
