I was out for a ride today and right there on the side of the road was a"For-Sale"- Miller 44D with hi/frequency mounted on a nice little trailer.Sign -"$4000 OBO".I'm looking for some insight to this model & the price. The unit is VERY clean and well kept but before I started to ask the seller questions I though I'd get ahead of the game here.Thax, GizzmoSyncrowave 250 CK aircooled tig
Reply:I use to have a 55D. If I remember correctly it had a 36, or 38-HP, 4-cylinder Continental diesel engine. Bought it in 1982 for $9,378.00, sold it in 1995 for $4,500.00. Only thing that ever happened to it was the auxiliary fuel pump went out. Under $40.00 at NAPA to replace. Never did like the quality of arc on that machine. Reply:I have a 44D. I like the way it stick welds. I wish it had CV as I do alot of Aluminum mig work and have two 30A spool guns. Mine has a 4 cyl Continental Diesel engine. Not bad on fuel use. I'll try to answer any questions you might have. |
