I have a Hobart Champion 10000. I am wanting to find out what feeder I need to get so I can run wire also. Thanks,Sandman
Reply:Sandman;I believe the Champion is strickly a CC DC welding only machine. You need a "voltage sensing" feeder that has a clamp that clamps to the work to sense voltage. We're all upset at ITW right now, but at the risk of being called a "Traitor". Look in the Miller Catalog, or Webbsight for a 3045 FC wire feeder. It will work on a CC or Cv machine. It's set up for Flux core, but with an optional gas solenoid kit you can use gas and solid wire.
Reply:Both the 3045 and the suitcase 8vs and 12vs are cc,cv (constant current-constant voltage) dc machines, both of them are flux core or gas sheilded process machinesStangnetShop Full Of Stuff. Joey
Reply:Thanks for the replys, I will see what I can find....Sandman
Reply:I, too, am a Miller man, but check out the Lincoln LN-25.  It is probably the mainstay of the industry for feeders.  I'm partial to Blue (hey, the things gotta match!), but if you aren't, the LN-25 will do the best job.  My Miller feeder is WAY OLD, but it still gets the job done, even limited to .045 wire.  One of these days, I'll get a new Miller suitcase.  Anybody have experience with the number 8?The voltage sensing feeders (like the SuitCase VS and LN-25) actually adjust the wirespeed as you weld to compensate for arclength, since you aren't using a CV machine.  I've heard some of them wear out faster than the CV counterparts.  Anyone have any experiences?
