TIG machine faults

Hi guys. Started a new job about 3 months ago and my boss buys a brand new AC/DC TIG welder for me to use.Only problem he is a cheapo and bought a Chinese unit. It is a disaster theirs so many things wrong with it I don't even want to list them.I used a Miller Syncrowave for 4 years before this and a Kemppi Mastertig 3500 for 4 years. I can't work with this.Ok. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can make this machine fail? Permanently?Need some electrical sabotage advice.I want to just say    "boss, it doesn't work. Buy a Kemppi or a Miller"I have to finish it without making it look like sabotage.What if I flick it from AC to DC back and forth at 200 amps. Will that damage it? Reply:He doesn't care. He wont call them.The torch cable is only 2 meters and the earth cable 1 meter. I pull the earth off the MIG and join em.The machine has pulse but only up to 50 Hz. It starts at 5 Hz. What's the point with such an inconvenient range.The AC balance doesn't work. Doesn't help with various types of aluminium140 amps is really about only 100 amps.Slope down/crate fill doesn't work. Makes ending a weld difficult on aluminium. Especially out of position.4T doesn't work. Which I prefer to useHF start will just buzz sometimes without initiating the arc.The torch gets so hot welding aluminium because its not water cooled.It is a machine for a hobby welder in a garage.Not in an industrial environment.I need to destroy it without voiding the warranty. Reply:There are shortcomings in business purchasing. One employee begs for a tool, a manager brings the subject up to his boss. The process rarely is quick. Eventually a upper level manager approves a purchase. Than, a secretary is directed to find the lowest price available. After it has passed through so many levels of indifferent, uninformed people the specifications read something like: Welder TIG. As they buy the cheapest, don't expect miracles.
Reply:So the machine is a POS. That should not stop you from doing the best work you can with it. It will probably wear out on it's own anyway as all equipment does. Some faster than others. Try your best to make money for the boss so he can upgrade later. You show him your best work, point out in a friendly and knowledeable manner what the shortcommings are, and the benefits and ROI of an updgrade.First maybe suggest a water cooled torch and cooler for the POS to increase productivity, but suggest a quality cooler as not to burn up too many power cables. Reply:Well I can help you with the hot torch. Pad your gloves where you feel heat from the torch. Keep welding as it is smoking. Hello the boss you are doing as much as possible to increase productivity but the collets just keep mushung out as you try to keep the tungsten from falling out.Ask for a nice leather torch cable cover from HTP/usaweld, so the hot cable does not burn your skin.
