Cyberweld sells the normal MM210 for $1210 and with Spoolmate 3035 Spoolgun $1,730, now you can buy the spoolmate alone for $433 http://store.cyberweld.com/spoolmate3035.html so who would pay $520 to buy it with the welder and why are they asking more for the package then individuals? Is it just me?
Reply:Welcome to wonderful world of Marketing !
Reply:Because yer getting a magnificent deal from an internet vendor?AND, when you get it, if there are problems, you'll be on your own to solve them.Check what you can buy it for from the local distributor, the guy who will be there to handle the problems, and give you advice, maybe even a demonstration.Appreciation Gains You Recognition-
Reply:I don't take too much advise from my dealer..... Half the time I go in there I show him in the catalog what I'm after, explain why I want it, and smile as I teach.  Sorry part is that I'm still a relative newby. Every now and then I get asked where I got my jacket, and every time I explain how I got it.  They still don't get it.
Reply:Your dealers sound just like the ones around me Aaron, I'll ask about something and they have no clue what I'm talking about and I'm like it's part # xyz123 in the Miller catalog, don't you know about it ? You'd at least think they'd browse through the catalog of products they sell
Reply:Spray welding?  What's that?Roughneck what? They even wanted me to pay to get my regulator repaired, when it was 3 mos old covered under a one year warranty.  Miller sent me a new one, NDA.  It's a good thing Miller backs up their customers directly, instead of making you work thru the dealers. But, they do give me decent pricing, and they get anything I ask for.

Reply:Well, regardless, Cyberweld treated me very well - the person I talked to when I ordered my Syncrowave was polite, friendly, and knowledgeable, and made sure everything was perfect.  She made sure they shipped it on a truck with a liftgate so that I could get it unloaded.  It arrived in a very short time.By way of contrast, I went to the local dealer (big Airgas dealership) near me once and asked if they had any Zirconiated tungstens.  Blank look.  "Zir... what?"  Tungstens... for TIG welding... More blank looks.  "Umm, I think there's some of those on the wall."  No, those are Thoriated.  Blank looks prevail.  Can you order the ones I need?  "I'm not sure."  Well when they finally DO find them in the catalog, they want something like $38 for a 10 pack of 3/32.  Sheesh.
Reply:Dan stole my thunder. the kit includes the spool gun, dual cylinder adaptor kit, and extra flow regulator. The dual cylinder setup is very conveinent with the spool gun. You just pick up the gun you want, set the volts and sire speed, and weld.
Reply:Me: "I need a lightweight c-clamp with a long reach - like an 8" or more. It's for a stanless sheet metal project I'm TIG welding at school."Guy at Airgas: "Like this one?" Holds up a VERY heavy duty 4" clamp, with a pointed screw. Me: "Um...no."-------Me: "Do you sell Solar Flux? I need the type B."Guy at Airgas: "What's it for?"Me: "The same stainless project."Guy at Airgas: "Well most of the stick electrodes have flux on them."Me: "But I'm TIG welding this..."Guy at Airgas: * blank stare * Me: "Thanks anyway."
Reply:Well guys, all I'm gonna say is I feel sorry for you having to deal with that calibre of supplier.  We now have about 6 or more "welding suppliers" in Rochester, at least 5 of witch probably fall into the category you're talking about, where I don't set foot, unless I'm lookin to piss some nitwit off.We also have the good fortune to have Mahany Welding Supply, owned and operated by Ted Krupnicci since he bought out Bill Mahany in 1950, along with his 2 sons and a daughter. The link will take you to the branch weldors around here call YuppiHany, operated by son Mike and daughter.  It's 7 miles closer to my house than the real Mahany, and unless I just need a tank of gas, I'll drive the extra miles to deal with Ted or Dave.http://www.mahanyweld.com/Mike and sister are college educated, and employ a welding engineer at the YuppiHany branch, even hold the classes for the local VoTec, but they ain't weldors.Appreciation Gains You Recognition-
