I'm not too impressed with his attitude towards learning to weld, but the nested table at the end was interesting. Reply:I've gotten so I hardly ever watch gold rush. Because I,ve been there,done that w/ most everything they do, I grit my teeth over how everything is dramatised for the camera. Ex: losing 1 1/2 days over changing an SCM bearing on the trommel. In real life, maybe two hours at most!! Reply:Yes welding is a lot more than just "hot glueing" metal together. but all things said, it's actually a pretty good laymen annalogy for mig. both push a filler onto a surface to bind two parts together with just the pull of a trigger. it's a VERY dumbed down explanation of it. As for discovery as a whole... it's pretty much just a reality TV network at this point. and as most people know, reality TV isn't reality. it's bit's and peices of reality hidden by scripted, and or staged situations. if it weren't it would be a lot more boring.There are no problems. Reply:Did anyone else notice in the background what looks like a bank of 220 volt plugs? I'm not sure that's what it was but it looked like sort of a power strip for 220 volt equipment. If so, I have never seen anything like that. Of course, I am from Arkansas and there is a lot I haven't seen.
