i have a old ltec plasma cutter and i want to start using it but i have no air compresseri only have 300.00 to spend but i dont want crap. is this possible.and what brand is going to serve me the best and last the longest ?dawg
Reply:Spend $300 and you'll end up with mostly crap. You get what you pay for.
Reply:Before getting my 60 gallon with the "7" fake horsepower (at least its a 240V) compressor, I was running my plasma from my DeWalt Emglo 2HP, 4 gal, carryable. It was a 100% duty cycle compressor and it ran the entire time the flow for the plasma did. But it kept up fine and got many a job done. I still have that compressor in my truck for all my mobile work. I paid less than $300 for a reconditioned one from www.toolking.com, with free shipping.
Reply:I purchased new a couple years ago a 3 HP Ingersollrand 60 gallon vertical, which I use everyday and sometimes I run that thing hard, mainly runs alot when I use my DA. The compressor new from Fastenal was around $ 450.00 I will be upgrading soon but for now she's working good.J P Streets Welding LLC |
