http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=12430I saw this great thread on the chop saw workstation and it got me thinking about my horizontal band saw and how to make a cutting stop for it. This is the saw that I have.http://www.southern-tool.com/store/jet-hvbs-710.phpI was thinking about making a tubing extension that would bolt or clamp, to the side of the machine that would work as a material support with a roller, and I could also clamp a stop like yorkiepap did.Has anyone done anything like this? Or how do you make a lot of same length cuts with your bandsaw? Thanks
Reply:My Jet horizontal saw has a machined hole into which 5/8 round stock its. It has a pinch bolt as well, that screws in from above. I've used this as a stop, but it won't work on the larger angles, due to the nature of the saw. You could try the same thing in your say. Maybe remove the rear jaw to affix something to it as a stop?-AaronJet 17.5" Drill Press1942 South Bend 16x84 Lathe1980s Miller 320A / BP --- 2013 Power Mig 2562012 Jet 7x12 Horizontal BandsawVictor O/A Setup |
