I got this thing which poking around on the web leads me to believe is a Danly dieset, as part of a deal on an old-timey shop press recently. I was thinking it was a bending jig of some sort, until I looked up Danly Commercial that I saw stamed on one of the posts. Is it likely to be usable with the 28 ton Weaver H-frame press? Any thoughts on how to figure out what it is for? It came out of the metal shop in an old furniture factory.
Reply:Danly die shoes or "sets" are used for holding punches and dies for automating certain processes. They are simply "holders" for more complex fixturing or die set ups. |
