experimenting with my first welding machine every free afternoon to prepare for welding school in 2nd quarterit's a kawasaki brand hope it's from japan as what the stores saysi dont know if it would qualify as a fillet weld basically it's 2 anglebardoing 1/8 6013 120amp arcforce 5 6010 75 amp arcforce 5 7018 120amp arcforce 5confusing angles from downloaded pdfs seems to make it harder and frustrating and when i get feed up i just weld and shove the stinking rod till it touches the workmetal while sparking and just estimate the angles instead of doing or finding the right work and travel angle. first it's 45 and then lower corner and then the upper corner any advice i appreciate cause i want to learn experimenting on overheard weaving 2sec on each corner
Reply:The 6013 fillet looks very good. The 6010 and 7018 look like you were hurrying a bit. Instead of counting seconds on each side of a weave, pay attention to what the puddle is doing. Hold each side just long enough for the liquid to flow out and tie in to the base metal. You'll find a rhythm, but the key is watching what the puddle is doing. |
