Looking to get a multi-function machine, either a Cigweld Transmig 200i or a Unimig equivalent. Any thoughts on which is the better way to go?
Reply:I've had massive problems with Unimig gear. The CIGWeld Transmig range is tough as hell. The workshop I used to work at had a half CIGs and the others were a mix of WIA, Lincoln and BOC Kemppis. The only ones that have lasted the test of time and never need repairs are the CIGs. Personally I know which one I'd be getting but in the end it comes down to what you need it for and budget.
Reply:I've used a multitude of CIG's, UNIMIG's, BOC, kempi, Fronius, WIA, lincoln and miller MIG welder's in an industrial setting, I've never had a problem with the UNIMIG's i've used, they're multi process machines are very good machines in my experience, i currently own a UNIMIG 170 amp TIG stick inverter, and having used they're MIG machines in my employment, i wouldn't hesitate to buy another of they're welder's.Last edited by ttoks; 06-23-2014 at 04:59 AM. |
