i got a craftsman compresser... when we turn it on it dosnt fill up all the way... it just goes for like a minute then shuts off.... it always ends up blowing the breaker...is there anyway to fix it?
Reply:What amperage is the compressor asking for and what amperage is the breaker?
Reply:Run a new electric line dedicated to the compressor. You are overloading the breaker.
Reply:Blowing the breaker obviously means that something is overloaded. Without knowing what compressor and how it is wired up, it is hard to say what the problem is.110V or 220V?Amperage of compressor vs. amperage of breaker?Gage of wire run from the breaker to receptacle/hard wire?
Reply:Check that the screw terminal that fastens the wire to the breaker is tight. If even a little loose, this can generate heat that causes the breaker to blow.Note that doing this wrong could get you hurt.If you need me to explain how to do this safely, then you shouldn't be doing it. |
