Too good to be true?

So I just called a guy from Craigslist selling a brand new dynasty 280dx with cooler, running gear, and wireless pedal for $3500.  I'm seriously suspicious if it's stolen for that price.  Am I missing something?

Reply:Yep, had a Kubota tractor with front loader with a mess of pictures and an impossibly cheap price on Craigslist in Billings, MT awhile back. Contacted the seller and asked about it. Seller told me the tractor and loader were down in Houston, TX at a shipping facility and if I sent the money needed via, I believe PayPal Shipping (or one of the other reliable sounding shipping methods) she (yeah, right) would have it off on its way to me for free shipping. Un-huh. Contacted 'her' back and told her my brother had a business in Houston and would she mind if he took a look at it. You know, 'she' never wrote back. Reply:I asked him to text SN to me and he said he would.  Having a detective run it but he said he would meet me with it.  I'm not naive, but I don't want to pass up an amazing deal.  If it doesn't happen then that's fine, I'll just keep on with my PT225.
Reply:I should also add I never go to Craigslist deals alone, always 2 or more people in a public place.  And we don't go unarmed.  Large money transactions always put me on high alert.
Reply:I don't want to shoot anyone.  But if it came to me or them I'm not going to lay down and die.  Again, sometimes those really great deals come along.  Most are scams but some are legit.  I already have a tig welder and I don't NEED a dynasty but I sure do WANT one.  He still hasn't text me the SN so I probably scared him off.  I was also thinking of having him meet me at the police precinct down the street from me.  If that didn't scare him off then he is either legit or a complete idiot.
Reply:Well the owner of the business just called.  Said he buys stuff from surplus sales and a client had asked for him to look out for one of these machines.  He said he bought it and client had already purchased one.He text me the SN which checks out and has no problem meeting me at police precinct.   Said his guys are loading it now.  I didn't have that much cash laying around and he agreed to take a personal check for the difference. I'll go find out here a little bit.  If I never post here again because I was killed in a welder deal gone wrong, then it was nice knowing you folks.   Ben
Reply:Well I'll never know if it was a scam or not.  They said their rental truck was having mechanical problems and I'd have to come to them.  I said no thanks.  I'm still alive and have more money in my pocket so all is well.  I'll get a dynasty one day, just not today.

Reply:I've seen it more than a few times myself.  He did give me a SN.  It's Saturday so it's not like I was busy doing much else.  I've had less productive days.But the day wasn't a total loss.  I got rear ended while driving to dinner with a freind.   No injuries but my truck got some rear bumper damage.  So I plan to use the insurance money to build the heavy duty bumper that I've been planning for awhile.  I was just glad we were in my truck and not her new car. Reply:Revolvers don't have feeding problems!  Bought the only problem that can stop them is high primers!
Reply:I used to have an ammo picky gun but it fed silver tips just fine.  I'll just stick with my glock.  Tough as nails and still shoots anything you feed it.Wow, just realized this post has gone horribly astray.   But I like it.
Reply:A glock 17 is why I became a revolver fan. Referred to it as my trusty stove pipe.  And no, I did not limp wrist it! It has since found a new home.Few if any men can keep advancing towards a 357 mags 18" of flame and muzzle blast from hell. Reply:I've fired thousands of rounds of every kind of ammo through my 22 with out ever having a FTF, FTE, stovepipe.  Only issue was with a bad primer or ammo.  My only revolver is a 44 and it's a little heavy and large for ccw.
