Reply:110v or 220v?You might want to look at this thread on 220v extension cords. It will probably answer all your questions.http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=11537Remember 10-2 or 10 -3 Romex is not the right stuff to use for extension cords. You want to use CORD not "wire" or "romex"..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:The 10 gauge extension cords available at the hardware store should work just fine. The pre made ones tend to cost less than making up a cord off the reels, but the plugs are not as good and will need to be replace at some point. If you can buy from an electrical supply house you can probably get a better price making one up from parts.15 amp or 20 amp is dependent on the wiring in the building, and is what it is, you can't really change it. Most places will have a 20 amp circuit somewhere. You might want to look in the breaker box to see what's available before you start.Ian TannerKawasaki KX450 and many other fine tools |
